"Cruising" aboard GREYHAWK on the Mid-Coast of Maine (probably generally staying near Harborfields), with Wendy, Bennett, Tahoe and Scamper -- acclimating to the boat!

Southport Yacht Club's Sequin Island Trophy Races are similar to the BHYC Regatta the previous weekend, except based in nearby Sheepscott Bay instead of Boothbay. The Sunday afternoon party (cookout at the Boothbay Region Boatyard) is reputed to be very fun and friendly.
Sometime during this period, I need to undertake a >100-mile, >24-hour singlehanded voyage as a qualifier for the 2009 Bermuda 1-2 Race. I propose a trip around the Cashe's Ledge and Jordan Basin weather buoys.
The Monhegan Race is an overnight distance race starting in Falmouth, Maine. See Notice of Race for full details.
This is double-handed race (put on by the Rockland Yacht Club) starting in Rockland Harbor, leaving Matinicus Rock to port, rounding Mount Desert Rock, leaving Matinicus Rock to Starboard, and finishing in Rockland, about 112 nautical miles. Logistic considerations include getting the boat from Boothbay to Rockland (and back). This could possibly be done on Friday 9/12, arriving at Rockland in time for the Skipper's Meeting, or could be done the weekend before, leaving the boat on a mooring in Rockland for the week (this would require a car shuttle between Rockland and Boothbay). The return could possibly be done on Sunday 9/14 following the finish of the race, or the boat could be left on a mooring in Rockland and retrieved the following weekend (again requiring a car shuttle).
